Urban planing for sustainable development
Sub-Sahara Africa has seen unprecedente economic growth in the last 10-15 years which, while welcome, has led to growth of the middle class and rapid urbanization but as well brought to fore its undesired effects including proliferation of slum dwellings, pressure on limited utilities, congestion and higher urban crime rates.
The need for better urban planning and expansion of existing utilities and roads, provision of a better housing stock and new industrial zones, building of retail centres and office buildings has become more vivid. The nature of these activities require the requisite experience and skills set that conform to the best international standards. It also encompasses bringing together teams of engineers, urban planners and architects to plan the required infrastructure.
ICS key staff are assembled from western and African dispora that have spent significant part of their working lives planning and designing such infrastructure including academic and company campuses, industrial estates, business parks, leisure centres,
local authorities housing development in Europe and Americas.
